I am not ranking the genre. I am placing Idle Fish 2 next to the idle fishing habit using only what its own App Store card shows as of 7 October 2026.
Shared bones
Most Ice Fishing tycoons sell the same bones: idle catch, sell, upgrade, open a new water. Idle Fish 2 sits in that family with a Simulation category tag and a long version history that still mentions winter zones years later.
What stands out on this card
A 4.8 rating from 5.7K ratings is a strong public signal. Size at 276.8 MB and a 13+ rating with listed descriptors tell you the build is heavy and not framed as a toddler toy. There is still no download counter to quote.
Where I refuse to invent
“Best of 2021” marketing language lives on the developer’s description; I do not turn that into a Metafunland award. Neighbor apps on Apple’s “You Might Also Like” rail are Apple’s suggestions, not my shortlist.
How to use this note
If you already like idle fishing loops, open the listing and decide from the live screenshots and IAP table. If you wanted a pure arcade caster with no idle layer, this card is the wrong dock.
